Overview
The Hispanic Coalition of Greater Waterbury is seeking the services and expertise of a consultant to review the agency’s current revenue streams and organizational needs as it evolves from a volunteer managed entity to a fully staffed multi service organization.
Agency Description
The Hispanic Coalition of Greater Waterbury has been in existence since 1988 providing needed services as identified by our community. We provide these services through advocacy, collaboration and creating self-sustaining entities to enhance the well being of our Hispanic family.
Our agency has four programs: Cultural Arts Academy Program, Social Coaches Program, “Calidad De Vida” Department of Developmental Services Program, Advocacy and Referral Services program. These programs encompass a wide variety of activities from after school programming, case management services, intensive respite care, and referral services.
Cultural Arts Academy Program provides middle school aged children with after-school programming to help children advance their knowledge of the Latino culture through art, music, and dance. This program is currently being re-establish as funding is being secured.
Social Coaches is a mentoring program where mentors are paired with children from the ages 6 through 14 who present social, emotional or complex behavioral problems. These children/youth may be D.C.F. involved either through Protective or Voluntary services. The funding for this program is a collaborative effort between Connecticut Junior Republican and the Hispanic Coalition.
Department of Developmental Services ‘ Calidad de Vida’ is a contract with the Department of Mental Retardation to provide recreational counseling, assistance, and guidance for a mentally retarded Hispanics and all other clients. The services are provided at home., on site, as day services and recreational. The clients receives job counseling, recreational services, and assistance in being an active member of the community.
Advocacy and Referral Services Program provides referral services and case management services for Hispanic as well as all other families.
